Chinese smartphone giant, Oppo has launched a new smartphone, the Oppo A16 which comes under the budget segment. The all-new Oppo A16 is the successor to the Oppo A15 launched in October 2020. The phone has a notched styled selfie camera on the display and a triple rear camera setup. The budget segment phone is available in a single RAM and storage variant. The phone is also available in three colour variants.
Price of the Oppo A16
The Oppo A16 is available in a single RAM and storage variant of 3GB + 32GB that is marked at IDR 1,999,000 (₹10,300 approx.). Currently, the phone is available for sale in Indonesia and there has been no mention of its global launch by the company.
As mentioned earlier, the phone is available in three colour variants- Space Silver, Crystal Black, and Pearl Blue colours.
Specifications of the Oppo A16
The Oppo A16 comes with a display size of 6.52-inch HD+ with a display resolution of 720×1,600 pixels, a refresh rate of 60Hz, a touch sampling rate of 60Hz, a pixel density 269ppi, and a peak brightness of 480 nits. The phone’s screen to body ratio is 88.7 per cent and a contrast ratio is 1,500:1. The phone runs on Android 11 and its very own ColorOS 11.1 right out of the box. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio G35 SoC processor, along with an IMG GE8320 GPU. The phone has 3GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 32GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. The memory can also be expanded via a microSD card. The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and also face unlock support. The phone packs a 5,000mAh battery backed by a Super Nighttime Standby mode feature to reduce power consumption.
In terms of the camera, the Oppo A16 features a triple rear camera setup comprising of a 13-megapixel primary sensor with an f/2.2 lens, a 2-megapixel macro sensor with an f/2.4 lens, and a 2-megapixel mono sensor with an f/2.4 lens and at the front, the phone features a notched styled 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 lens on the display.
As for the connectivity, the Oppo A16 includes 4G, Bluetooth v5, Wi-Fi (dual-band), 3.5mm, GPS headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port for charging. As for the sensors, the phone includes an ambient light sensor, geomagnetic sensor, accelerometer, proximity sensor, and gravity sensor. The phone’s dimensions are 163.8×75.6×8.4mm and it weighs 190 grams.
